STK 3601 1979 Chevrolet Monza SW
The Chevrolet Monza is a sub-compact produced by Chevrolet from 1975 through 1980. It was based on the earlier Chevy Vega with shared body, chassis and powertrain components. This 1979 Monza station wagon is a very rare example of this unique compact car. The exterior appears to be all-original and the factory White finish is in overall good condition with some areas showing only minor weathering. The body and undercarriage are solid and a factory chrome roof rack is a nice accent. The original interior is also in overall good condition. There are a few areas that could be addressed, but door cards, dash and headliner are all fine. The upholstery is good (with a few minor abrasions), the factory AM radio functions very well and windows are tinted - the interior is all there. Power is provided by a 2.5L 'Iron Duke' 4-cylinder engine w/2-barrel carb that was rated at 90hp. It is said to have never been overhauled and is running well. Recent service includes a new fuel pump, carb rebuild and new muffler/tailpipe. It is backed by Chevy's 3-speed automatic transmission and factory differential. This Monza is equipped with power steering, manual disc/drum brakes and restored Vega GT rally wheels w/centers & trim rings that mount new 13” whitewall radial tires. Chevy manufactured many models of the Monza, but there are few around today that look and run like this one. This little White Wagon was actually honored with the 'Most Unique Vehicle Award' at a Winston Cup cruise-in. ALL VEHICLES SOLD “AS IS”.
