E Code 312 Engine New Tires and Hard Top
STK 3453 1957 Ford Thunderbird
The Thunderbird was introduced in 1955 as a sporty competitor to the Corvette. The 1957 Thunderbird, third model year, presented a new front fascia, new rear taillight/fin design and carried over features from the previous model year including a 12-volt electrical system, deep-dish 'safety' steering wheel and removable hardtop. This particular 1957 Thunderbird is a rare 'E code' (2x4 intake) example of the iconic Gen1 roadster. Horsepower is provided by a rebuilt Thunderbird 312ci engine fitted with dual Holley 4000 'T-pot' 4-barrel carburetors, each said to flow 330cfm for a total of 660cfm. This engine features an 'Engine Dress-up Kit' with chrome/alloy accents and was factory rated at 270hp. This 'E-code' is backed by Ford's time-honored 2-speed Ford-O-Matic transmission.
The fully restored (1998) T'bird has been with its current owner for the last 24 years and has been well cared for. The exterior was refinished in classic White and is in overall good condition. Note: There are areas of the finish that are less than perfect due to some preparation oversight. Accents include rear fender skirts and new wide-white radial tires mounted on beautiful Kelsey wire wheels. The white 'porthole' hardtop is in very good condition and a stand is furnished to store the top upright (no soft top). The interior has been reupholstered in black/white vinyl and includes the restyled '57 instrument cluster with round gauges and all '57 Thunderbirds are equipped with an adjustable telescopic steering column. Other features include power windows and an aftermarket AM/FM/Cassette radio. The chassis is equipped with power steering and manual drum brakes. The 'E code' Thunderbird is a rare version of this classic roadster that just may belong in your garage. ALL VEHICLES SOLD “AS IS”.
